Rescue TruckOur Rescue Truck is the most important vehicle in our fleet. It is numbered 22-56 and carries all the critical tools needed to extricate victims trapped, unable to escape, in a variety of life threatening situations.

Our Rescue Ambulance (22-55) is the second most important vehicle in our fleet. It provides both rescue and patient care capabilities. It is used for car accidents and as a backup for the Rescue Truck when there are mutiple car accidents at the same time.

This Ambulance, numbered 22-52, is used for patient transports resulting from medical emergencies and accidental injuries. Under the hood it has a dependable Ford diesel engine. Inside, it is equipped with oxygen, suction, a stretcher, and first aid supplies. We have 3 more ambulances similiar to this one, numbered 31-51, 22-53 and 22-54.

From the Incident Command Vehicle (22-76) our Chief and his line officers coordinate First Responders at car accidents, large scale events, mass casualty incidents, and lengthy extrications.

Our Emergency Response Unit , numbered 22-58, is a used for off-road rescues and patient transports, where an ambulance cannot travel. Triatheletes and horseback riders who become victims can be rescued when they are injured in rough terraine.

Marine 225 is used for water rescues at Round Valley Resevoir, the Delaware River, floods in Bound Brook and much more. It has been called to rescues in PA, NJ and NY. Shown here, the Chief (white shirt) thanks the three volunteers for getting the boat hitched up and ready for a standby at a local sporting event at Round Valley.

The EMS Bike Rescue Team Unit is a trailer that holds all our bike equipement. EMTs man these bikes at local events including the Balloon Fest and the Tour De Somerville. Each bike is equiped with patient stabilzation supplies including oxygen, automatic external defibrillaters (AEDs), and bandages.

The Special Operations Unit, known to squad members as the Mass Casualty Trailer, was deployed during events of 9-11-01 and was one of the first few in the state of NJ. It contains enough equipment to treat hundreds of patients. The squad stands ready to help in the event of bus, train or plane accident... among other things.

Our Towing Unit (22-77), a Ford 350 Pick Up Truck, was purchased to pull our three trailers. In addition, crews use this vehicle to pick up heavy supplies, transport equipment to standbys, and keep the driveway cleared of snow in the winter so that ambulances can respond quickly to calls for help.

The Indicent Resource Unit is also known to squad members as the Rehab Trailer. It has food, water, oxygen, chairs, cots and other items to care for First Responders who are called to large scale incidents with a more than 4 hour operational period. For example, our EMTs provide food, rest and medical care to fire fighters battling long, fierce blazes.
