Whitehouse Rescue Squad on Hits the Streets on Halloween
The Whitehouse First Aid & Rescue Squad will be out in force this Halloween in its coverage area which consists of the majority of Readington Township, portions of Clinton and Tewksbury Township and most of Lebanon Borough.
The rescue squad, which has been serving the community since 1950, will position apparatus strategically throughout the busier trick-or-treat parts of town. Lake Cushentunk Woods, Lebanon Commons, and Whitehouse Village are typically high volume locations where the squad will stage. The volunteers will hand out reflective wristbands, glow sticks, stickers, and other Halloween and safety items. Residents can expect to see the ambulances and other equipment beginning at 5 p.m. and wrapping up after the last tricker-treaters have finished. Residents are encouraged to come out and meet their local rescuers. The volunteers will answer questions about the squad, membership or donation opportunities, and of course are available for emergencies.
Jeffrey Herzog, the rescue squad’s Chief said this of the Halloween patrol, “This program has received great response from the parents and allows them to feel a little safer while trick or treating with their kids." This is the ninth year the squad had been out on the streets on October 31st.
