| Car vs. Tractor-Trailer Rt-523 and Pleasant Run Road |
Thu. Jul 30th 2009
At 07:43 AM on July 30, 2009, Whitehouse Rescue Squad was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident (major) at the above location; patient was reported heavily entrapped. While enroute 2255 requested Heavy Rescue 4956 (Flemington Rescue) to standby at station; this was done as a precaution since Whitehouse Rescue Heavy Rescue had been out of service with electrical system failure for the last 4 weeks. Whitehouse Rescue responded with additional equipment and manpower; additional assistance and fire safety was provided by 22-Fire. Flemington Rescue was requested to respond due to the severity of entrapment. The patient was flown via NorthStar to Morristown Memorial Hospital were it was determined that the injuries were indeed minor, and the patient was released that day. Paramedics from Hunterdon Medical Center assisted with patient care. Although the patient was very heavily entrapped, they were extremely fortunate since the injuries turned out to be relatively minor.
Whitehouse Rescue Squad heavy rescue 2256 was put back into service on the evening of 7/31/2009. We all are hoping this unit stays in service.
