Water Rescue Drill Whitehouse & Branchburg



 
Squad responded to Rt 78 East the morning of 10/30/2008 for the reported 4 car MVA with injuries. Upon arrival of first due BLS Unit 225-5, command was established and requested medivac to fly for an unconscious occupant.  Additional units responded including BLS 225-1 from Branchburg, Heavy Rescue 225-6 and BLS 225-4 from Whitehouse, along with ALS EMS1 from Hunterdon Medical Center.  The patient was extricated from the vehicle which had driven off the highway into a tree.  The patient was transferred to NorthSTAR Medevac for transportation to Morristown Memorial Trauma Center.  Also on scene where the NJ State Police, NJ Dept of Transportation ERT and Tewksbury PD who assisted with traffic.Fatal Accident on Rt 78 E mm 26.3

Car 225-8 is set up as an off-road rescue vehicle, carrying miscellaneous medical equipment along with folding stokes, portable stretcher, backboard, and initial access trauma supplies.  This vehicle is used during incidents at the Round Valley Recreation Area's campgrounds, and other off-road or rough terrain locationsCar 225-8
