Rescue Squad Responds to Serious Motor Vehicle Accident on Rt. 78
At approximately 4p.m. on June 17th, 2006 the Whitehouse Rescue Squad was alerted for a serious motor vehicle accident on Route 78 West, mile marker 23 in Lebanon Borough. An ambulance went in route immediately, followed shortly after by addition ambulances and the squad’s rescue service unit truck. The squad arrived on scene, triaged the patients and began medical care. There were four patients in the SUV that had rolled over three times. The rescue personnel stabilized the vehicle and began extricating the patient using hydraulic rescue tools. The squad transported two to Morristown Hospital, one with a head injury and one with abdominal injuries. Two others had critical injuries that required air transport to Morristown Hospital.
Responding to the accident were the Whitehouse Rescue Squad, Hunterdon Medical Center’s Mobile Intensive Care Unit, Lebanon Borough Fire Company, State Police, Morristown Hospital’s Air 1 and South Jersey’s Monoc 3 helicopters.
